Green tea oil, or melaleuca oil, is an essential oil with a fresh camphoraceous odor and a color that ranges from pale yellow to nearly colorless and clear. Green tea oil is taken from the leaves of the Melaleuca alternifolia.

Green tea oil is best known for its antimicrobial activities. It contains the compound terpinen-4-ol which is thought to be the responsible for fighting all three categories of infectious organisms (bacteria, fungi, and viruses).

Green tea oil can be used to combat a variety of ailments including dandruff,acne, athlete’s foot, eczema lice,and psoriasis.It is also an ingredient in soaps,creams, lotions, ointments, and shampoos.
